Slab sales and fabrication

Terms and conditions of sale

Slab stone is a natural product of nature and may vary in coloration, shading and markings. Uniqueness is an inherent characteristic in natural stone.  No two pieces are exactly alike.  The only guarantee is that each piece of stone will be different.

It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect the material prior to fabrication.  Absolutely no claim will be honored after the material is fabricated for final install.

All estimates are contingent on final measure or tem plating of the job site.  All estimates are specific to the work to be performed; any changes must be approved through an “Additional Work Authorization” AWA, signed by the builder, architect or consumer.  All sinks, faucets and stove tops are required at the time of tem plating.  No fabrication will be started until these items are furnished to the fabricator.  These items will be inspected prior to acceptance to assure no damage.  Lack of any of these items could postpone the delivery at the scheduled time and delay fabrication.

Templating will be scheduled when all cabinets are 100% installed.  There will be a return trip charge of $75 on all jobs scheduled for tem plating that are not ready.  You will be notified of any problems observed, items that need correction or changes in size or layout creating price changes.

Installation and fabrication will be performed to industry standards.  The number of components and seam placement are subject to change, due to working size of the slabs available.  If you have a preference, please bring it to the attention of the sales person.  Pricing could vary.

Please review the placement of all faucets, or the installer will use their expertise.  You will need to contact a plumber to make arrangements for all necessary plumbing.

Because walls have a tendency to bow in and out, sometimes it is necessary for the installer to cut into the drywall to perform a final install aesthetically pleasing to you.  Make sure that no putties or caulk are used that will stain your stone.  We will not be responsible for patching, caulking or painting the walls.

The cabinetry and flooring structure load level must be adequate to support stone counter tops, since they can weigh up to 2000 lbs.

We will inform you of any braces needed for overhangs.  It is your responsibility to supply and install these prior to our installation.

Any additional work not specified in the contract will be charged at $40.00 per hr/per person.

All installation is warranted for a period of one year excluding any structural changes or construction deficiencies.  No guarantee is made against wear.  Degree of wear is a function of maintenance and abrasion.  Big Sky Granite cannot be responsible for failures resulting from lack of maintenance.

Sales are made on cash basis only.  A 50% deposit is required on all purchases, with balance due on delivery.
